The city of Frontenac, Mo. adopted the following codes:
- The International Building Code, 2006 edition. Frontenac, Mo. Muni. Code, § 500.010 (adopted) with amendments at § 500.020.
- The International Residential Code, 2006 edition. Frontenac, Mo. Muni. Code, § 500.021 (adopted) with amendments at § 500.022.

The city of Frontenac, Mo. adopted the International Building Code, 2006 edition, including appendices E and F. Frontenac, Mo. Muni. Code, § 500.010 (adopted) with amendments at § 500.020.
Existing Buildings
Chapter 34 of the 2006 IBC applies as follows:
Chapter 34: Existing Structures: The requirements of Chapter 34 shall remain as written with the following exceptions:
3403.1.2 An alteration to any structure shall conform to the code requirements for a new structure and shall not result in an increase in hazard to the occupants. Portions of the structure not altered and not affected by the alteration are not required to comply with the code requirements for a new structure except as specified in Sections 3403.1.3 through 3403.1.7.
3403.1.3 Damaged Structures: If a structure is damaged by fire or any other cause, the renovation shall be considered an alteration and comply with Sections 3403.1.4 through 3404.7.
3403.1.4 Alterations Exceeding Fifty Percent: If alterations or repairs are to be made within any period of twelve (12) consecutive months, costing in excess of fifty percent (50%) of the market value of the structure, the requirements of this code for new structures shall apply. At the discretion of the Building Official, alterations required to resist earthquake loads may be phased as renovations to different portions of a structure.
3403.1.5 Damages Exceeding Fifty Percent: If the structure is damaged by fire or any other cause to an extent in excess of fifty percent (50%) of the market value of the structure before the damage was incurred, this code's requirements for new structures shall apply.
3403.1.6 Alterations Under Fifty Percent: If the cost of alterations or repairs to be made within any period of twelve (12) consecutive months is between twenty-five and fifty percent (25% — 50%) of the market value of the structure, the Building Official shall determine to what degree the portions so altered or repaired shall be made to conform to the requirements for new structures to insure the safety, health and general welfare of the occupants and the public.
3403.1.7 Alterations Under Twenty-Five Percent: If the cost of alterations or repairs to be made within twelve (12) consecutive months is twenty-five percent (25%) or less of the market value of the structure, the Building Official shall permit the restoration of the structure to its condition previous to damage or deterioration with the same kind of materials as those of which the structure was previously constructed; provided that such construction does not endanger the general safety and public welfare.
3403.1.8 Market Value: In applying the provisions of this Section, the market value of the structure shall be determined by the Building Official.
3410.2 Applicability: Structures existing prior to June 10, 1975, in which there is work involving additions, alterations or changes of occupancy shall be made to conform to the requirements of this Section or the provisions of Sections 3403.0 through 3407.0. The provisions in Sections 3410.2.1 through 3410.2.5 shall apply to existing occupancies that will continue to be, or are proposed to be, in Use Groups A, B, E, F, M, R, S and U. These provisions shall not apply to buildings with occupancies in Use Groups H and I.

The city also adopts codes from St. Louis County:
The St. Louis County, Missouri Ordinances dealing with (1) Building Code Ordinance #20311 as it applies to elevators, amusements, conveying equipment and fire protection for commercial kitchen equipment only, and (2) Mechanical Code Ordinance #22313, and (3) Electrical Code Ordinance #21553, and (4) Plumbing Code Ordinance #22338, and (5) Explosives Ordinance #18693 are hereby adopted as the appropriate Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Explosives Codes of the City of Frontenac. Three (3) copies of the above-mentioned Codes are on file in the City offices.
